Drop-In Creative Writing Workshop

The Astoria Bookshop drop-in creative writing workshop continues every other Sunday via Zoom. Next up, 11/7 at 4 pm!

11/7: Beings + Things: Objects in the Time of Covid
Did the pandemic give an ordinary object new meaning?
How can that object tell the story of your state of being?
We’ll inspire some writing by sharing the “stuff” that got us through.

11/21: Give Me a Deadline: Feedback Workshop
Have a piece or need a deadline to finish one? We will share screens and read each other’s drafts out loud and provide group feedback. 1800 words (or less).
Participation is limited to 4 people, so click here to register and grab your spot today.

Workshop Creator Scholarship

Grateful and thrilled to be awarded a scholarship for the May cohort of the Workshop Creator program run by Wavetable!

Transitioning my work online is a need as I struggle to regain my livelihood. However, I want to design engaging and openhearted virtual workshops that help high school students tell their stories for college application essays in an authentic voice.

Personal storytelling is essential right now as a way for students to connect by sharing in each other’s experiences.

Online Writing Workshops Available

Great first sessions for two new online creative writing workshops this past Sunday and Tuesday!

Workshops for adults will be held every Sunday. I’m limiting class size so that the session can be more interactive. Email me today at kjfitzsimmons@gmail.com for more information, to sign up, or be added to my newsletter to receive information about future sessions.

Click here to watch a video response from Tuesday’s kids’ workshop.

I also do private writing coaching/tutoring for individual students or small groups (2-3). Reach out if you’d like more info on anything
